Chicago Youth Sports Alliance is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation incorporated in the state of Illinois. Its purposes are exclusively charitable and educational, and are specifically dedicated to the underprivileged youth within the city of Chicago. The organization is run entirely on a volunteer basis. There is no paid staff. 100% of funds collected are used to support the charitable activities organized for the children. To that end, a majority of the organizational expenses are directly related to the equipment and resources used by the approved programs (e.g. athletic equipment, balls, field time, uniforms, first aid equipment, referees, coaching supplies, etc). To the extent possible, funds are paid directly by Chicago Youth Sports Alliance to vendors and suppliers to ensure that all money is used properly and in accordance with the Corporation’s 501(c)(3) status.
All programs funded by Chicago YSA submit to a thorough review process by the Programs Committee and require formal approval by the Board of Directors, so you can be assured your donation is helping to make a difference in communities that stand to benefit the most. A majority of programs are organized in coordination with Chicago-area schools and their representatives. Face-to-face meetings with these representatives are required prior to approval to verify that the proposed programs meet the qualifications laid forth in Chicago YSA's Board approval process.
